About the event

Even casual history buffs are well aware of how the Battle of Kings Mountain, followed by more Patriot victories at Cowpens and Guilford Courthouse, proved to be the turning point for American victory in the Revolutionary War. But most folks are unaware of the bloody aftermath of Kings Mountain leading up to the battles at Cowpens and Guilford Courthouse. This was truly a civil war pitting neighbors, sometimes even family members, against each other. Their armies were led by colorful characters on the American side such as Daniel Morgan, Nathaniel Greene and Benjamin Cleveland, and the notorious Banastre Tarlton leading the Brits. Join historian and author Bob Plott as he uses materials from his books and many other resources, revealing this interesting story and discussing the bloody exploits of the participants.

Admission is free and a book signing and question and answer session will follow the program.
